The West Texas Regional Poison Center (WTRPC) is located at University Medical Center of El Paso (UMCEP).  We provide emergency telephone services in both English and Spanish to the residents of West Texas through our toll-free emergency telephone hotline at 1-800-222-1222.  We are available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.  We are also available to provide Spanish services for the entire state of Texas when needed.  Our Staff at the WTRPC is made up of specially trained physicians, pharmacists, and nurses that have been certified by the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC).  Our WTRPC also provides answers to questions about poison prevention, medication identification and safety, product recalls, and many other important topics relating to poisonings. 

The Texas Poison Center Network (TPCN) is made up of six certified regional Poison Centers located in Amarillo, Dallas, El Paso, Galveston, San Antonio, and Temple; the Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC); and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).  All work in conjunction to provide quality Poison Center services to the residents of Texas.
