Leo Artalejo III, Pharm.D, was born in El Paso, Texas. He is the Director of the West Texas Regional Poison Center at the University Medical Center of El Paso (WTRPC) since it began operations in September 1994.
He graduated from the University of Houston - College of Pharmacy in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and the University of New Mexico - College of Pharmacy in 2004 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
He has over 40-years of extensive clinical and management experience to include: poison center services, intensive care pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, nutritional care, military pharmacy, administrative services and research.
Leo is the father of three children: Lee, Gabriel and Amy Marie; and the grandfather of four grandchildren: Solaz, Luna, Sylas and Alana. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
