
Stephen Borron, MD
MS, FACEP, FACMT, Associate Medical DirectorStephen W. Borron, MD, MS is a native of West Texas. He is the Associate Medical Director of the West Texas Regional Poison Center (WTRPC) at University Medical Center of El Paso (UMCEP) and Program Director of the Medical Toxicology Fellowship Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) of El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. Dr. Borron is also a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at TTUHSC of El Paso.
He graduated from the Texas A&M University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1984 with a Doctor of Medicine degree and from the University of Cincinnati in 1992 with a Master of Science degree in Environmental Health.
He is board certified in Emergency Medicine, Preventive Medicine (Occupational Medicine) and Medical Toxicology. He has over 20 years of experience, including emergency department care in Level I trauma centers, poison center services, toxicology intensive care unit, and both clinical and laboratory research. He is Medical Editor-in-Chief of ToxED and one of three editors of Haddad & Winchester's Poisoning and Drug Overdose, 4th Edition. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Borron is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
